Critically acclaimed designer Joseph Altuzarra—most recently crowned CFDA Womenswear Designer of the Year for 2014—is joining the ever increasing army of high-fashion designers partnering with retail giant Target, to bring runway inspired clothing and accessories to the masses. According to the designer: “one of the guiding principles of Altuzarra is that fashion can be transformative (I share Altuzarra’s sentiment regarding the transformative nature of fashion and elaborated on that notion here), changing not just the way you look, but also the way you feel. By partnering with Target, we hope to bring that same experience to a much broader range of women.”

The Altuzarra for Target collection is replete with Altuzarra signatures: like python, similar to those featured prominently in the designer’s Spring 2015 show; and rich jewel-toned velvet suits, similar to the ones that were included in Altuzarra’s Fall 2010 collection—all of which are underscored by the unadulterated sensuality—another Altuzarra identifier—that oozes from each piece. Priced from $17.99 to $89.99, the almost 50-piece collection will become available in select Target stores and online here on September 14. Click here to read more about the collaboration.

Altuzarra’s many accolades include winning the highly coveted 2011 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award; the 2012 Swarovski Award for Womenswear; Fashion Group International’s Rising Star of the Year Award, Out 100 Vanguard of the Year; the Ecco Domani Award; Forbes 30 under 30 Award and he has been nominated for the CFDA Award three times over—all this since launching his eponymous label in 2008. Take a look at the Altuzarra for Target collection in the lookbook above and let us know your favorite piece. I’m loving the long black dress that appears first in the slideshow.
